will.i.am talks big plans for Black Eyed Peas By Emily Zemler

Black Eyed Peas announced they are planning to expand their touring capabilities to stadiums next year when it’s time to promote their new disc, The Beginning (which comes out November 30). Will.i.am told Billboard that the group’s recent South American arena tour was essentially a trial run for how the BEP could tour in the States.
“South America was a test,” the innovative frontman told Billboard. “We did all our homework… to try to figure out how we can do stadiums in other countries, in America, in Europe. If Black Eyed Peas can do five O2 Arenas, why don’t we just do it in one shot? If we can do three Staples Centers, we should do one Dodgers Stadium. So that’s how we’ll probably tour this time around.”
We know that some of the seats in Dodgers Stadium are pretty far away from the field, but the rapper/producer contests that stadium shows are the best way to do it, especially for BEP. “It’s like you’re there with all your friends,” he said. “You’re there in front of 50,000 people and they’re there to watch you and your friends. Nothing gets any better than that. It’s the best feeling, the best one yet.”

And we obviously should believe will.i.am when he says he’s got a feeling. The group is also rumored to be performing at the Super Bowl next year, which been all but publicly confirmed. They’re set to begin this giant tour “after February” when the supposed performance would take place.
Will.i.am also discussed the band’s new album with Billboard, which he says is a cohesive collection with the band’s last record, The E.N.D. Apparently, it also has a good message. “The Beginning is about taking ownership… of your life and not waiting for someone to give you the answers but to go out and search for those answers yourself,” will.i.am said. “We’re saying, ‘Don’t let the negativity rule you.’ Sometimes going out and celebrating is a departure.”
He added, “You’re celebrating the fact that you’re alive and that you have a mind and that you know right from wrong. But you have to change your frequency. You have to change your outlook. You’re never going to achieve anything positive if you’re trapped in the negative. So what you’re going out and celebrating is that one day that will change, and that’s the beginning.”
